About the ICA

The Integrated Care Academy is shaping the future of care

Our vision is to enable the best possible integrated care accessible to all

Through education, research, leadership, workforce development, and innovation, we are committed to advancing high-quality, coordinated care that is responsive to the needs of the communities we serve. In close collaboration with our partners across the UK, we champion co-production, promote equality, and continually strive to be a national exemplar of person-centred integrated care.

About us

The Integrated Care Academy (ICA), along with its functions and mission, was co-produced by the population of our Integrated Care System (ICS), its statutory partners, and those in the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector who took part in extensive co-production work prior to its launch in May 2021.

The ICA is a collaborative partnership that brings together the four pillars of the local authority: the integrated care system, higher education, and the voluntary, and community sector.

Person Centred Care

Our expertise: enabling integrated care

The Integrated Care Academy offers expertise in integrated care, led by experienced leaders with a strong track record in system transformation, education, and innovation. The team brings together knowledge from the health, social care, academic, and community sectors to develop practical solutions that foster collaboration and improve outcomes.

Our expertise includes:

  • Embedding co-production principles and delivering co-production network events, training and ensuring lived experiences shape service design and delivery.
  • Delivering inclusive, practical courses and learning events that increase understanding of both the theory and practice of integrated care.
  • Supporting Integrated Care by building research capacity and capability, conducting evidence reviews and service evaluations, and collaborating to produce high-quality, relevant research that strengthens the evidence base and aligns with system needs.
  • Enhancing skills in workforce planning and addressing skill gaps through training and consultancy to support organisations’ development of workforce strategies, plans, redesign and delivery of new models of care.
  • Providing transformative leadership programmes that foster collaborative, problem-solving cultures across integrated systems.
  • Facilitating innovation adoption and spread, working with innovators and industry partners and the workforce to support embedding innovation.
